Numerical Simulation of Grain Growth

We aim to build mathematical models and numerically simulate them. This includes 2D and 3D models. This is perform using GPU computing.

Numerical Simulation of Tsunamis

We numerically solve the Shallow Water Equations using the Lattice Boltzmann method, this is also perform using GPU computing.

Numerical Simulation of Wildfires

We study numerical the spreading of wildfires. This is perform in 2D. GPU computing is on the way!

Matrix-Free algorithm for handling overdetermined non-linear system of equations

We avoid the use of large matrices when handle large non-linear systems of equations. This is also handle with GPU computing.

Combinatorial optimization solvers

We work on building new type of solvers for combinatorial optimization problems. The main idea is to take advantage of the set of partial solutions found and keep a “diverse” set of them.

Molecular Dynamics

We develop new algorithm for handling large scale numerical simulation of linear polymer chains. We initially study how to define better initial conditions to later design new algorithms for evolving the whole structure by making only local changes.

Text analysis

We have developed algorithms for detecting plagio and authorship of text documents.

Astroinformatics

We work on developing algorithm for detecting molecule entities in large data sets. The algorithms developed rely a variational formulation.
